I am a native of Colorado but my parents raised us with their southern values. Even in the seventh grade communism was introduced as a great thing in one of my classrooms. I went home and told mom about the speaker that had visited our classroom and it was then she sat down with me and set me straight. I never forgot that moment and have spoken about it since the 70s. I was so proud of my mom when she informed the school that they had better never teach me about that subject again.
