As a general rule I don’t feel sorry for someone who gets hurt or killed resisting arrest, fighting a cop or committing a crime. I don’t care what color anyone involved is; focusing on that is a complete deflection & contradictory to what MLK dreamt people would do.
I think Chauvin’s actions went too far. I don’t think a murder charge is appropriate given the totality of circumstances. I think he was overcharged and convicted to pacify those who immediately judged this case based on the players’ skin color and pedaled the “bad racist cop” narrative for attention and profit
Just imagine if Donald Trump had said what Maxine Waters did. The hypocrisy is astounding - and infuriating
I have not followed the Derek Chauvin trial. As much as I like true crime, this case did not interest me. There was absolutely zero indication that the officer’s actions had anything to do with race, yet the media immediately jumped all over the racist narrative; that is when I tuned things out. I’ve had a strong sense he will be convicted all along though...we’re living in a time where if the mob decides to target you as a scapegoat for their narrative you have little to no chance.
To be clear: I think you could have a legit debate about whether or not Chauvin’s actions were justified. I don’t have an opinion on that because I did not see the facts presented in trial. I just think race had absolutely zero to do with this case & the narrative that the officer was racist simply because he is white & Floyd was black annoys me to the point where I wanted nothing to do with it
The word “racist” is thrown around so often lately that it has all but diminished its meaning. This is sad because true racism is disgusting. Calling something or someone racist simply because you disagree and are desperately seeking attention, however, is just lame.
“Very instructive to see who becomes angry at the mere suggestion of having their liberty restored. We’ve become a society overrun with hyperanxious narcissists who go to bed every night terrified that someone, somewhere, may be enjoying a life of freedom and unwavering purpose.”
Add “pick up tickets from the box office to the MLB All-Star Game” to the former list...
I wish to God sports leagues would stay TF out of politics. I get to a certain extent everything is intertwined, but there is no logical reason for them to dive headfirst into an issue that alienates half of their fan base
I truly do not understand the outrage over Georgia’s new voting law. Oh, I get why they SAY they are outraged - that tired old “it’s racist!” narrative that seems to apply to anything liberals disagree with - but when I examine the facts, they do not add up.
Georgia provides FREE IDs to anyone who needs them. It doesn’t matter what color you are; the only requirement is that you be a legal citizen, which, sorry to say, is exactly how it should be. This BS about no water at polling places is exactly that - a BS lie meant to grab attention & stir outrage from idiots who do nothing but read headlines & react. It’s easily disproven.
What is wrong with trying to eliminate cheating? I can think of only ONE reason that would bother people and we all know what that is.
And don’t even get me started on these pandering CEOs & sports leagues. I’d be willing to bet a LOT of money that they feel public pressure to speak out but privately most agree with the law...
Gov. DeSantis will be taking Executive Emergency Action against vaccine passports...the more I hear about this guy, the more I love him!!!
No matter what you believe, stand up for it.
All along, I have thought the mask mandates were ridiculous. Therefore, from day one I have either gone without or avoided businesses/situations that required it. I also quit my bowling league when it started requiring masks and have put my MLB season tickets on hold until rules ease. These have not always been easy sacrifices, but I believe firmly in following my principles.
One thing you will never see me do, however, is fight with a business. They have a right to make rules, no matter how ridiculous, and I have a right to spend my money elsewhere, which I choose to exercise
Now I have seen it all: there is a triple-masker at my gym tonight! This guy is also wearing plastic gloves
Just caught up on Biden’s first press conference. I don’t say this to be mean-spirited; I truly mean it - how can anyone who is being intellectually honest think his cognitive abilities are OK?
In reference to the Colorado shooting suspect, “He’s Muslim” is trending on Twitter and leftists are predictably outraged, calling it racist AF.
Ignoring the fact Muslim is not a race, how long do you think it would take them to jump all over & exploit the situation if, for example, the suspect had been wearing a MAGA hat? I am sure they would’ve encouraged people not to jump to conclusions & given every benefit of the doubt then 🙄
I have mixed feelings about gun control.
On one hand, I’m a huge believer that you can’t legislate away crime. Criminals, by definition, do not follow laws. All gun laws are going to do is create a situation where good guys are left defenseless against evil. I do NOT want BS laws stopping good guys from protecting me! I also think gun-free zones are an absurd concept: if I were a psycho hell bent on destruction, the very first place I’d target is somewhere I know people wouldn’t be armed.
That said, I don’t think absolutely everyone should have carte blanche to carry anything simply because it exists. And open carry, to me, seems illogical. Again if I were a psycho walking into a store, the first people I’d target are the ones I can see are armed. Concealing makes much more sense.
At its heart, though, I believe these mass shootings are more about mental health than anything; the guns are just a tool they use. I wish people would stop focusing on the WHAT & instead ask WHY
The more I hear @RandPaul speak, the more I like & respect him
Thank GOD. Not that I obey it anyway but shaming by the 🐑 is getting old!
If you’re going to flee a liberal state because of how terribly it’s run, STOP VOTING FOR THE SAME IDIOTIC POLICIES in your new home!!!
It’s not that hard!!!!
So our softball season starts soon, and in prep, the league sends an email informing everyone that IDs/rosters will be checked before every playoff or championship game to ensure teams aren’t just bringing in temporary ringers to cheat.
Yes we’re competitive but this is a coed rec league. No one is trying to win scholarships, and scouts definitely aren’t attending.
Remind me again why requiring IDs for voting, which is one of the biggest responsibilities a U.S. citizen can have with lasting implications, isn’t a thing?
Colorado Governor (who spent the past year decimating restaurants with his ridiculous mandates & who I suspect has posters of masks on his bedroom ceiling): declares today MeatOut -aka eat like a vegetarian- Day
Me: orders two extra patties + bacon for my burger in celebration of the exact opposite
